velvet

BEST KNOWN FOR ITS DISTINCTIVE SOFT FEEL AND SUMPTUOUS APPEARANCE, VELVET IS A TYPE OF WOVEN, TUFTED FABRIC WITH A SHORT, DENSE PILE. VELVET CAN BE MADE FROM EITHER SYNTHETIC OR NATURAL FIBERS.

Since wool is a natural fiber that is resistant to stains, airing is usually enough to make it clean and fresh. The ideal weather for airing is cold and damp.

Care tip #1

We recommend freshening your velvet items between wears by airing. Steaming removes wrinkles and lifts the pile. Remember to steam on the reverse side of the fabric.

Care tip #2

To remove excess dirt, you can brush your velvet item gently. When thorough cleaning is needed, consider using professional dry cleaning services. Do not iron the surface of velvet.

Care tip #3

Store your velvet items on a sturdy hanger in an airy space. For longer-term storage, use a garment bag.
